Experience spring in Castelrotto - South Tyrol
When the mountains are still covered by amounts of snow and while the first flowers are blooming, then it is the perfect period for an unforgettable vacation at Fillhof, especially during the months of April and May, when the days are getting longer and the sun's rays are becoming stronger.
Enjoy cosy hikings starting from the farm, like walking to the idyllic Marinzen Alp, hiking to the Passo Pinei where you will have a fantastic view over Val Gardena from above or walking through the giant grean meadows of Castelrotto admiring all the different types of flowers.
Fillhof is the perfect starting point for many hikes, for example to the Alpe di Siusi or to the National Park Puez-Odle. The hiking paradises in the immediate area of the Alpe di Siusi and the Sciliar area are reachable by numerous walking paths starting in front of our house.

A real highlight for endurance hiker is the ascent of the Sciliar or of the Sassopiatto. The holiday region of Castelrotto offers also great possibilities for mountain biker, who can discover many mtb trails on the Alpe di Siusi, the highest plateau of Europe. The Bike Eldorado Val Gardena - Alpe di Siusi offer more than 1000 km of mountain bike trails.
After the activity programme, you can also go swimming at the outdoor swimming pool in Telfen or at the "Laghetto di Fiè", which is one of the cleanest swimming lakes in Italy. Of course you can also make an excursion to the nearby Val Gardena and experience an eventful day in the outdoor and indoor swimming pool "Mar Dolomit" in Ortisei.
Look forward to some really nice autumn adventures
Colourful landscapes, sunny days and crystal clear nights are the characteristics of an autumn holiday in the Dolomites. With good weather you can benefit of a super distant view and further the valley is a lot quieter than in midsummer. The autumn is the season of the so called “Törggelen”, where a lot of farms invite you to enjoy a typical tyrolean dinner with delicious South Tyrolean specialities.
